Shothole Canyon

Shothole Canyon, located within Cape Range National Park, offers a 12-kilometer scenic drive accessible exclusively by four-wheel-drive vehicles. The route meanders along the canyon floor, providing close-up views of its rugged limestone walls and colorful rock layers. At the end of the track, visitors can enjoy picnic facilities and embark on a short, steep walk to a lookout offering panoramic views of the canyon leading to Exmouth Gulf. The canyon's name originates from seismic studies conducted in the 1950s, which left shot holes in the terrain.
