Shelving Beach, located on the southwest corner of Great Keppel Island, is a secluded cove accessible via a bush track from Fisherman's Beach. This small crescent-shaped beach features a sandy bottom and rocky reefs on both ends, making it ideal for snorkeling. The fringing reefs, just 30 to 50 meters offshore, are home to a variety of marine life, including colorful reef fish, stingrays, and turtles. The calm, shallow waters, with depths up to four meters, provide excellent conditions for both novice and experienced snorkelers. Visitors can also enjoy picnicking, swimming, and sunbathing in this tranquil setting. To reach Shelving Beach, visitors can take a ferry from Rosslyn Bay Harbour to Great Keppel Island, followed by a short walk along the beach track.
