Shelter Bay Campground offers a serene beachfront camping experience within the Shark Bay World Heritage Area. The campground features sixteen unpowered campsites nestled along a stretch of white sandy beach, each varying in size and some allowing small boats to be launched directly from the shore. Facilities include no-flush pit toilets, and visitors are required to bring their own water and remove all waste upon departure. Generators are permitted between 8 am and 9 pm. Access is via a high-clearance 4WD vehicle along unsealed roads, with the journey taking approximately 175 km from the Great North West Coastal Highway. The best time to camp is from April to October, when winds are lighter and the sea calmer.
