Shellharbour Hospital, established in January 1986, is a comprehensive acute care facility located 24 km south of Wollongong in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven Local Health District. It offers a wide range of services, including emergency care, elective surgeries, general medical services, antenatal and family health care, satellite renal dialysis, and both adolescent and adult mental health services. The hospital is fully accredited by the Australian Council on Health Care Standards (ACHS), reflecting its commitment to high-quality patient care. Inpatient services encompass aged care, medical, surgical, mental health, and acute medical assessment beds, along with a Day Surgery Unit.
