Shark Bay Marine Park

Shark Bay Marine Park, located approximately 60 kilometers from Carnarvon, is a haven for marine enthusiasts. The park encompasses 7,443 square kilometers, with depths ranging from 15 to 220 meters. It is renowned for its vast seagrass meadows, the largest and most species-diverse in the world, and is home to over 10,000 dugongs, representing the largest population globally. Visitors can engage in activities such as diving, fishing, and wildlife encounters, with opportunities to observe humpback and pygmy blue whales during migration. The Gnulli and Malgana people have responsibilities for Sea Country in the marine park.
