The Sawyers Gully Memorial Gates, established around 1917–1918, commemorate local residents who served in World War I. Originally part of the former Sawyers Gully School, the gates feature two cement pillars with marble plaques listing the names of the fallen. Over time, the memorial fell into disrepair but was restored and unveiled on 28 January 2006. Located approximately 4 km from Abermain Public School, the gates stand on Old Maitland Road between Sawyers Gully Road and Native Dog Hill Road.
