Saltwater Picnic Area

Nestled within Saltwater National Park, the Saltwater Picnic Area offers a spacious setting ideal for barbecues and picnics. Guests can relax under sheltered picnic tables or on the grassy lawns shaded by rainforest trees. The area features free gas barbecues and is accessible to all visitors. Adjacent to the picnic spot, Saltwater Beach, Khappinghat Creek, and Wallabi Beach provide opportunities for swimming, surfing, sunbathing, and fishing. The nearby Five Islands walking track invites exploration of the local wildlife, including carpet pythons, monitor lizards, and red-neck wallabies. Saltwater Beach has been a popular recreation spot for more than a century and continues thousands of years of tradition as a seasonal campsite for Aboriginal people.
