
Saltia is a small locality in South Australia's Flinders Ranges, approximately 279 kilometers north of Adelaide and 19 kilometers east of Port Augusta. Established in 1862 by Charles Simmons, it was named after the Aboriginal word "thaltja," meaning "the gums." The area is traversed by Flinders Ranges Way and the Pichi Richi Railway, connecting Port Augusta to Quorn. As of the 2016 census, Saltia had a population of 10 residents.
