Sale Common Nature Conservation Reserve, located off the South Gippsland Highway near Longford, VIC, is a 300-hectare sanctuary featuring freshwater marshes, red gum woodlands, and grasslands. As one of the last two natural freshwater wetlands in the Gippsland Lakes RAMSAR site, it plays a crucial role in water purification and flood moderation. Visitors can explore extensive walking paths and boardwalks, immersing themselves in diverse habitats that support a variety of bird species, including migratory birds from as far as Japan.
