Venue

Southern Lamington, QLD

Nestled within Lamington National Park's Green Mountains section, the Running Creek remote bush camp offers a secluded rainforest experience accessible via a 5-hour off-track hike from Drynan’s Gate. The journey follows Running Creek through lush farmland and into the park, leading to a campsite surrounded by dense rainforest and cascading waters. This area is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, renowned for its rich biodiversity and geological significance. Campers must be self-sufficient, as the site lacks facilities; water should be treated before drinking, and all rubbish must be carried out. Open fires are prohibited; fuel stoves are permitted. Mobile phone coverage is poor. Advance bookings are essential, with a maximum of four people allowed per night.
