Bingara, NSW

The Roxy Theatre, built in 1936 by three Greek immigrants, is a striking example of Art Deco architecture in Bingara. After operating as a cinema until 1958, it remained dormant for forty years before being restored to its original splendour in 2004. Today, it serves as a multi-purpose cinema and regional centre for the performing arts, hosting the North West Theatre Company. The theatre also functions as a versatile event venue, accommodating groups from 20 to 400 for conferences, seminars, weddings, and private functions. Its original fixtures, including ornate stucco plaster, paintwork, and coloured lights from 1936, have been meticulously preserved, offering an unforgettable experience in its full theatrical splendour.
