Embark on the 16-kilometer return Rocky Crossing walk in Barrington Tops National Park, a Grade 4 track that typically takes 6 to 8 hours to complete. Starting from the Williams River picnic area, the trail meanders through a dense rainforest of sassafras, red cedar, and giant stinging trees, offering opportunities to spot lyrebirds and eastern whipbirds. The path descends to Rocky Crossing, featuring mudstone terraces where eastern water dragons are often seen basking. Picnic spots are available by the river, or you can continue to Lagoon Pinch picnic area for a hearty lunch before retracing your steps.
