Redruth Gaol, constructed in 1856, was the first prison built outside Adelaide. After its closure in 1894, it reopened in 1897 as a girls' reformatory until 1922. The gaol gained fame as the filming location for the 1979 movie "Breaker Morant." Today, it operates as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into its storied past. Access is available through the Burra Heritage Passport, obtainable at the Burra Visitor Centre.
