
Rapid Bay, located 105 kilometers south of Adelaide, is a picturesque coastal destination nestled between long sandy beaches and towering cliffs. Accessible via a steep descent from the main Normanville-Cape Jervis Road, it offers a serene escape from city life. The bay is renowned for its long jetty, originally built in 1940 and now closed to the public, and a new jetty opened in early 2009, ideal for fishing and enjoying panoramic views. Divers and snorkelers are drawn to its rich marine life, including the famed Leafy Sea Dragon. The area also features a historic boulder where Colonel Light carved his initials upon first landing in 1830. Facilities include picnic areas, public toilets, and ample parking. Please note, the beach is unpatrolled, so exercise caution when swimming.
