Nestled along the Herbert River in Girringun National Park, Princess Hills camping area offers two secluded, shady sites approximately 1 km apart, each accommodating up to 12 people. Accessible exclusively by 4WD, the area is ideal for tent camping and off-road camper trailers. Campers can enjoy activities like canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Facilities are minimal, with no toilets provided; visitors should bring their own drinking water and pack out all rubbish. Campfires are permitted in existing fire rings, and generator use is allowed between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm, provided noise levels do not exceed 55 dB(A) at 7 meters. Mobile phone coverage is very limited and unreliable. The camping area is closed during the wet season from 1 December to 31 March due to impassable roads. Bookings are required and can be made online.
