Port Fairy War Memorial

The Port Fairy War Memorial, located at the intersection of Bank Street and Princes Highway, stands as a solemn tribute to the community's fallen soldiers. Constructed from grey granite with red granite nameplates, the monument features a white sculpture of a World War I soldier resting against a broken tree trunk, holding a rifle in reverse. The memorial honors those who served in World War I, with additional plaques commemorating those who served in World War II, Korea, Malaya, Borneo, Vietnam, and peacekeeping missions. Surrounded by manicured lawns and a chained fence, it offers a serene environment for reflection and remembrance.
