
Point Sturt is a tranquil locality on the west side of Lake Alexandrina, approximately 71 km southeast of Adelaide and 17 km east of Goolwa. Established in the 1850s, it features rural living areas, primary production, and grazing lands. The area offers picturesque views across the lake to Raukkan and is home to abundant birdlife, including Australian Pelicans and Black Swans. Local activities encompass sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, fishing, and swimming. The Milang-Goolwa Freshwater Classic yacht race sails around Point Sturt each Australia Day long weekend.
