Perched on a hill overlooking the narrow passage between Lake Alexandrina and Lake Albert, Point Malcolm Lighthouse is Australia's only inland lighthouse. Constructed in 1878, this seven-meter-tall concrete tower guided vessels through the lakes' waters, marking the passage between the two lakes. The lighthouse ceased operations in 1931 due to declining river traffic but remains a significant heritage site. Visitors can explore the area, enjoy scenic views, and learn about its maritime history. The lighthouse is accessible via Poltalloch Road, with a ferry crossing to Narrung nearby.
