Platypus Beach, nestled along the Pioneer River near Mirani, offers a serene retreat for both locals and visitors. This sandy haven is ideal for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and picnicking. True to its name, there's a chance to spot a platypus in its natural habitat. Accessed via a sealed road under the Mirani Bridge along the Mackay-Eungella Road, the area features picnic facilities, informative signs, and shelter. Please note, there are no toilet facilities, so visitors are encouraged to take their rubbish with them to preserve the environment.
