Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Education Committee (PYEC)

The Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Education Committee (PYEC) is an Anangu-run organisation dedicated to leading educational strategies for Anangu children in South Australian schools. PYEC ensures that Anangu students receive quality education and support, enabling success in both Anangu and Piranpa (non-Indigenous) contexts. Their vision is for Aṉangu children to be strong in their learning, Kurunpa (spirit), and Tjukurpa (connection to country), with Aṉangu taking the lead in education. PYEC collaborates with ten schools across the APY Lands, implementing programs like NETT Kunpuntjaku to enhance school attendance and ARDU Learning in Language to develop bilingual educational resources.
