Pipalyatjara Airstrip

Pipalyatjara Airstrip serves the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in South Australia, providing essential air access to the remote community of Pipalyatjara. The airstrip features an unsealed runway suitable for small aircraft, facilitating regular mail deliveries and emergency services. As part of the APY Lands, Pipalyatjara is approximately 550 kilometers southwest of Alice Springs, accessible via the Gunbarrel Highway. The community is home to around 140 residents, primarily Anangu people who speak Pitjantjatjara as their first language.
