The Pine Lake Walk is a 30-minute return journey along a raised boardwalk, offering easy access to one of Tasmania's rarest trees—the pencil pine. This ancient species, evolving before flowering plants, is unique to the Tasmanian highlands. The 800-meter trail is suitable for all ages and abilities, including wheelchair users with assistance. Located at an altitude of approximately 1,200 meters, visitors should be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions. The walk is accessible directly from Highland Lakes Road, 33 kilometers south of Deloraine.
