Pike River, SA

Pike River is a tranquil locality in South Australia's Riverland region, situated approximately 210 kilometers northeast of Adelaide and 9 kilometers southeast of Renmark. Established on 16 March 2000, it derives its name from the stream that forms its southern boundary. The area encompasses a floodplain known as the Pike River Basin, shared with Mundic Creek and Paringa. Notably, parts of this floodplain are part of the nationally important Pike-Mundic Wetland Complex. Land use includes agriculture, fishing, sand mining, and recreational activities such as watercraft, fishing, and hunting. The locality is traversed by Stanitzki Road, connecting it to the Sturt Highway and the town of Loxton.
