Pete's Community Workshed, located at 10 Sorell Street in Bridgewater, Tasmania, is a not-for-profit community-based facility dedicated to fostering skill development and social connection. Established in 2001 by Bill Griffiths and Pete Cousens, the Workshed offers a welcoming environment where individuals can learn woodworking, metalworking, and practical home maintenance skills. Experienced coordinators provide friendly, informal mentoring, particularly focusing on empowering young people from the local area. The facility is open to all members of the public, including school groups, disability and aged care groups, and work-for-the-dole participants. Operating entirely through dedicated volunteers, Pete's Community Workshed continues to serve as a valuable resource for the community, regularly welcoming over 100 visitors each month.
