Parrakie

Parrakie, located in South Australia's Murray Mallee region, is a small rural locality approximately 26 kilometers west of Lameroo. Established in 1907, the town's name is derived from the Aboriginal word "perki," meaning cave or limestone sinkhole. The area is characterized by vast open landscapes, farmland, and a close-knit community. Agriculture is the primary industry, with large properties cultivating cereal grains and raising livestock. Community facilities include a Lutheran Church, town hall, post office, and recreational amenities such as a cricket club and tennis courts.
