
Pandanus Park is a vibrant Aboriginal community situated 60 kilometers south of Derby in Western Australia's Kimberley region. Nestled along the Fitzroy River, it lies just off the Great Northern Highway, opposite the Willare Roadhouse. Established in 1987, the community is managed by the Yurmulun Aboriginal Corporation. In 2011, it became the 13th in Western Australia to be declared alcohol-free, promoting a healthy and safe environment for its residents. The community is part of the Shire of Derby-West Kimberley and is recognized for its rich cultural heritage and commitment to self-determination.
