Nestled near the mouth of the Prosser River in Orford, Tasmania, the Orford Bird Sanctuary is a vital haven for both resident and migratory shorebirds. This sandspit and lagoon host over 20 species, including the vulnerable Fairy Tern, Hooded Plover, and Red-capped Plover. Notably, it serves as one of the southernmost breeding colonies for the Fairy Tern.
