Nestled in Forest Park on Nicholson Street, the Orbost Visitor Information Centre is housed in a historic 1872 slab hut, originally a family dwelling. Visitors can explore a variety of tourist information, maps, local books, and handcrafted goods. The centre offers a cozy open fire in winter and natural coolness in summer. A charming cottage garden, home to resident geese and bellbirds, surrounds the hut. Forest Park provides picnic and barbecue facilities, a playground for children, and walking tracks, all showcasing local talent. The centre is partly funded by the East Gippsland Shire and operated by dedicated volunteers.
