Situated on the banks of the Snowy River in Orbost, the Orbost Arts Centre is a vibrant, volunteer-run, not-for-profit hub dedicated to fostering regional creativity. The centre showcases a diverse range of wood design, visual arts, and performing arts, serving both the local community and visitors to Far East Gippsland. Its permanent collection features pieces from the Australian Wood Design Exhibition, celebrating over 20 years of wood design excellence. The purpose-built facility, constructed with materials donated by the local community and timber mills, also houses a shop supporting the creative practices of over 30 regional artists and craftspeople. Adjacent to the historic Slab Hut Visitor Centre and Orbost's popular Forest Park, the centre offers a unique cultural experience in a picturesque setting.
