Completed in 1932, Old Quipolly Dam was originally constructed to supply water for Werris Creek, livestock, and the railway. Today, it serves as a vibrant habitat for a diverse array of water birds, featuring a bird hide that offers excellent viewing opportunities for birdwatchers and visitors alike. The surrounding recreation area provides picnic tables, walking paths, and a disabled-accessible toilet, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and leisure activities. Please note that the area operates from sunrise to sunset, and certain activities, such as fishing, are permitted only in designated zones.
