Cooya Pooya, WA

Cooya Pooya Station, established in the mid-1860s, is a historic sheep station located approximately 29 kilometers south of Roebourne along the Harding River in Western Australia's Pilbara region. The station's name, derived from the Aboriginal term "Cooa Pooey," refers to a nearby waterhole. The homestead, constructed in 1912, is a single-storey stone building with an iron roof and detached kitchen. Recognized for its significance in the development of the North-West pastoral industry, Cooya Pooya Station was added to the State Register of Heritage Places on September 2, 1998.
