Old Bourke Wharf

Once the largest inland port on the Darling River, Bourke Historic Wharf now serves as a tranquil spot to view the river. This replica of the original wharf showcases the area's adaptation to varying water levels. In the late 1850s, the Darling River became a vital transport route, transforming Bourke into a key river trade center. Paddle steamers once towed bales of wool down the river, but by 1931, river transport was replaced by other forms of transport.
