Nestled under majestic oak trees in Richmond, Oak Lodge is a Georgian sandstone house built around 1831. Managed by the Coal River Valley Historical Society, it showcases furnished interiors and exhibits detailing Richmond's early European settlement. The house has served as a school, residence for a magistrate, and home to Dr. William Clarke, a notable American-born doctor. Its delightful garden, laid out within a 19th-century cobblestone service yard, complements the historic ambiance. Open on Sundays from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm, entry fees are $6 for adults and $3 for children.
