Established in 1949, the Basin View Rural Fire Brigade is one of the Shoalhaven region's oldest and most dedicated firefighting units. Comprising 59 active members, the brigade responds to a variety of emergencies, including bush and grass fires, motor vehicle accidents, and incidents beyond their local area. As a specialized boat brigade, they also safeguard islands in St Georges Basin and waterfront properties. In August 2024, the brigade celebrated its 75th anniversary by unveiling a memorial garden to honor the commitment of its volunteers.
