North Yelta is a rural locality situated at the northern end of South Australia's Yorke Peninsula, approximately 131 kilometers northwest of Adelaide. Established in January 1999, it lies on the eastern outskirts of Moonta, within the Copper Coast Council jurisdiction. The area is primarily zoned for agricultural production and grazing on large holdings. Historically, North Yelta was home to the Yelta Mine, operational in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, contributing significantly to the region's copper mining heritage. Today, it offers a tranquil rural setting with a rich mining history.
