Nestled along the North Palmer River in Queensland's Palmer Goldfield Resources Reserve, the North Palmer River camping area offers a secluded bush experience accessible exclusively by 4WD vehicles. This remote site comprises two separate sections along the riverbank, each providing ample space for tent camping or off-road camper trailers. Visitors can enjoy campfires (subject to conditions) and are permitted to use generators operating at or below 65dB(A) between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm. Essential amenities are absent, so campers must be fully self-sufficient. Mobile phone coverage is unavailable, and pets are not permitted. Camping permits are mandatory and must be booked in advance, as self-registration is not available on-site. The area is closed during the wet season from December 1 to Good Friday, with roads becoming impassable due to flooding.
