Established in 1979 to conserve the mallee heath habitat of the 90 Mile Desert, the park offers a range of recreational activities, including 4WD tracks, camping across 11 campgrounds, and 10 walking trails. Visitors can explore diverse ecosystems supporting significant flora and fauna, with over 120 bird species recorded. Entry fees are $10.90 per vehicle, with camping fees starting from $21.60 per night.
