Newington House, a two-storey Regency villa built between 1829 and 1832, stands as a testament to early colonial architecture in Silverwater, New South Wales. Constructed for John Blaxland, the estate was renowned for its landscaped gardens and orchards. Over time, the property has served various purposes, including as the founding site of Newington College, an asylum, hospital, and now functions as the administrative building for the Silverwater Correctional Centre. The house's symmetrical design features a central pedimented break-front and a decorative fanlight above the main entrance.
