New Pelion Hut, built in 2001, is the largest alpine hut in Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, Tasmania. Located approximately halfway along the Overland Track, it accommodates up to 60 people across six rooms, with a spacious common area that can be divided by a roller door. The hut features bunks (without mattresses), a gas heater, a composting toilet, a rainwater tank, and tent platforms for camping. Accessible primarily on foot via the Overland Track from Cradle Mountain, Lake St Clair, or the Arm River Track, it serves as a popular base for day walks to nearby peaks like Mount Ossa, Mount Pelion East, and Mount Oakleigh.
