New Mapoon is a coastal community located at the northern tip of Cape York Peninsula in Queensland, Australia. Established in the early 1960s, it was formed to accommodate residents relocated from Mapoon Mission. The community is situated south of Seisia and west of Bamaga, adjoining the Lockerbie Scrub. As of the 2021 census, New Mapoon has a population of 412 people. The residents have a ranger service that collaborates with other Northern Peninsula Area community rangers to undertake land management practices.
