
Nerada is a rural locality in Queensland's Cassowary Coast Region, covering approximately 32.2 square kilometers. As of the 2021 census, it has a population of 88 residents. The area is predominantly agricultural, with sugarcane and banana cultivation, and some grazing on native vegetation. The Johnstone River bounds Nerada to the west, north-west, north, north-east, and east. Palmerston Rocks National Park lies in the south-east of the locality. The name 'Nerada' is believed to be an Aboriginal word from the Mamoo language, meaning 'grass country'.
