Situated on Larrakia Country at Bullocky Point in Darwin, the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) is the region's premier cultural institution. Established in 1981, MAGNT houses internationally renowned artistic, cultural, and scientific collections, offering a dynamic program of exhibitions and research. The museum is renowned for hosting the annual Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards, Australia's most significant celebration of Indigenous art. Visitors can explore permanent exhibitions like Cyclone Tracy and the Maritime Gallery, as well as temporary displays. The museum also features a Discovery Centre with hands-on children's activities, a theatrette, and a Museum Shop. Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, admission is free, with the exception of certain touring exhibitions and ticketed public programs. Free parking is available on-site, and the museum is accessible via public transport, including bus routes 4 and 6.
