Murdochs Beach, located near the hamlet of Boobyalla in Tasmania, stretches approximately 4.7 kilometers from the low diorite rocks of the central beaches to the sandy mouth of the Boobyalla River. The beach features a dynamic sandy spit and is backed by long-walled parabolic dunes, some of which have been stabilized and are now well-vegetated. The area is part of a coastal reserve, with access provided by a track that follows the rear of the dunes.
