Moura Meridian Marker

Located 1 km east of Moura on the Dawson Highway, the 150th Meridian Marker signifies the position of the 150°E longitude, which defines Queensland's Eastern Standard Time. At equinox, a day is exactly 12 hours long along this meridian. The marker features 'holey rocks,' remnants from coal mining blasting, aligned to point directly along the 150th Meridian. Visitors can look through these holes to view the meridian's path.
