Mount Willoughby is a remote locality in South Australia's Far North region, approximately 837 km northwest of Adelaide and 84 km northwest of Coober Pedy. Established on April 26, 2013, it encompasses diverse habitats, including swamps, grasslands, clay pans, breakaway ranges, and red dunes. The area is traversed by the Adelaide-Darwin railway and the Stuart Highway, with the Woomera Prohibited Area occupying its southwest corner. Land use is primarily for cattle grazing in the north and conservation within the Mount Willoughby Indigenous Protected Area in the south.
