Mount Werong Campground

Nestled in the remote southern Blue Mountains, Mount Werong Campground offers a serene escape for nature enthusiasts. This campground serves as an excellent base for exploring mountain bike trails, bushwalks, and historic sites. The area is rich in tall forests, diverse wildlife, and both Aboriginal and European heritage. Nearby, the Ruby Creek Mine provides a glimpse into early pioneering life, accessible via the 2.5 km Ruby Creek walking track. The campground features picnic tables, barbecue facilities, a car park, drinking water, and non-flush toilets. Please note, there are no marked sites, and visitors should arrive well-prepared for the unpredictable weather at approximately 1,200 meters elevation. A $6 booking fee applies, though camping is free. Group bookings for up to 20 people or 5 sites can be made online; larger groups should make a group booking enquiry.
