Mount McLeod Hiker Camping Area

Nestled in the alpine wetlands of Mount Buffalo National Park, the Mount McLeod Hiker Camping Area offers a secluded retreat for hikers. Accessible via the Mount McLeod Track, it's approximately an 8 km hike from the Reservoir Picnic Area. The campground features five unpowered sites, each accommodating up to two people, and includes a pit toilet. Campers are required to use fuel stoves, as open fires are prohibited. Water is seasonally available from a nearby creek; however, it's advisable to treat the water before consumption or carry sufficient supplies. Advance bookings are mandatory year-round.
