Mount Elephant, a 380-meter-high dormant volcano, is a prominent landmark near Derrinallum, Victoria. Formed approximately 180,000 years ago, it features a conical breached scoria cone with a 90-meter deep crater. The site offers walking tracks suitable for all abilities, leading to stunning panoramic views of the surrounding volcanic plains. The modern Visitor Centre provides nature displays, light refreshments, and toilet facilities. Open every Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm, the centre also welcomes visitors at other times by appointment. Dogs on leads are welcome.
