Mount Coot-tha Reserve, Brisbane's largest natural area, spans over 1,600 hectares of open eucalypt forest, rainforest gullies, and creek lines. Located just a 15-minute drive west of the Brisbane CBD, it offers a variety of walking tracks, mountain bike trails, and horse riding paths suitable for all skill levels. The reserve features nine picnic areas equipped with facilities like barbecues and toilets, with some areas accessible 24 hours a day. At the summit, the Mt Coot-tha Lookout provides panoramic views of the city, Moreton Bay, Stradbroke Island, and the southern ranges, complemented by a café and gift shop. Home to approximately 370 wildlife species and 450 native plant species, including rare and threatened species, the reserve is a haven for nature enthusiasts.
