
Mount Coot-Tha Forest, Brisbane's largest natural area, spans over 1,600 hectares of open eucalypt forest, rainforest gullies, and creek lines. Located just west of the city, it offers a variety of walking tracks, mountain bike trails, and horse riding paths. The reserve features nine picnic areas equipped with facilities like barbecues and toilets. At the summit, the Mt Coot-Tha Lookout provides panoramic views of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, and the southern ranges, complemented by a café and gift shop. The area is home to approximately 370 wildlife species and 450 native plant species, including rare and threatened species.
